Marc Fisher Flats

Aren't these Marc Fisher flats cute? They are a wonderful finishing touch to a dressy outfit and they're also great for dressing up a pair of jeans when you're going out clubbing.  I love the way the bow  embellishment picks up the light and adds an extra sparkle.

Forgotten Wooden Shoes

While biking home I noticed a pair wooden shoes under some trees in what might have been some one's garden a long time ago. I don't know how long they've been there but looking at the amount of deterioration I would guess quite a long time. I often go past this area but this is the first time I have noticed them. Now of course, I notice them every time I pass.

I got to wondering about the shoes. Had they ever been worn or were they purchased as a souvenir? If they had been worn, when and by who? Were they purchased in Holland or were they some one's woodworking project?

iShoes App

If you're an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch owner and a shoe lover you'll want to make sure you download the free iShoes app from the iTunes store. The app is a great little diversion, allowing you to browse through all the latest shoes. You can even be selective and only look at the designers you like, they're all there. When you find the pair you love you can mark them as favourites and find them on the web. This is an app worth checking out if you love shoes. Here's the link iShoes app. Happy browsing!

Chinese Laundry Sandals

Nothing says summer like a cute pair of sandals and I think these sandals made by Chines Laundry fit the bill. Wouldn't you agree?

Guardian of the Shoe

I am fascinated by the shoes I find abandoned. It is often one lone shoe left behind at the beach, on the side of the road, on a trail or even in a parking lot. These shoes always have me wondering how they got there. Did their owner discard them, finding them no long useful or were they left behind by accident? How did the person get home wearing just one shoe? Anyway, as I or friends of mine find these lone shoes I might just share them with you.

My daughter spotted this shoe sitting on the side of the highway, to her delight there was also a frog nearby seemingly guarding his find.

Confession

I think the best place to begin this blog is with a confession. I love shoes! I always have and I probably always will. For a while I turned my back on fashionable shoes and chose to wear practical footwear. This decision probably had a lot to do with the stage of life I was in. Being a stay at home mom, raising two girls isn't exactly conducive for wearing high heels. Although I could have read to kindergarteners in high heels or attended PTA meetings in the latest Anne Klein heel I choose not to.

However, this past birthday my passion for high heels has returned. I got two juicy gift certificates to our local shoe store and that was all it took.

Now that I am taking dance lessons and find myself going to events and celebrations that require a nice shoe I'm back in my element. I wonder if the love of shoes is genetic. Both my girls love a nice shoe, maybe one more than other ;)

I'll leave you with a picture of the shoe that reawakened the passion!
